ABSTRACT

The world has entered a critical period for human health. The scarcity of skilled health personnel, including nurses, reveals one of the biggest obstacles to achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) aimed at improving the health and welfare of the world population. Against this background of growing concern about the shortage of health personnel, the report focuses on one of the most important human resource: nurses.
