Topic: What can young Vietnamese do to improve the awareness of environmental issues in Vietnam?
Viet Nam has a long coast of 3000 km in length and therefore is ranked no.7 in the list of countries that will be affected by climate change the most. When sea level is rising, my country will lost an enormous area of agricultural and living land. However, Vietnamese people do not care much about protecting the environment, partly because of the low educational and economic level in many parts of the country. Since Viet Nam is a developing country, we tend to abuse our rich resources and destroy our environment by doing so. We have cut down a tremendous area of our precious forest and drained our once-rich soil. We have polluted our once-fresh atmosphere with exhaust fumes given off by our so-called developing industry. We also have polluted our ocean, once filled with fishes and sea creatures, with sewage from out overcrowded city. Viet Nam is going to be heavily affected by the climate change in the near future, not only because of the wrath of nature but also the lack of awareness of our people. Therefore, it is time to act decisively and responsibly on those environmental issues. To do so, first, the awareness of environmental issues of Vietnamese people has to be raised to a new level. Such an important mission required a well-educated force with inspiration and commitment as well as physical greatness. Therefore, it is us, young Vietnamese, who are responsible for committing ourselves to this great mission to improve the awareness of environmental issues in our country.
