To Drill or Not to Drill
Changing to new power sources is unnecessary and expensive the United States should search for oil in Alaska, the Gulf Coast, and other areas within the country that are currently not being explored. America is a country where oil is so important to our everyday needs that we will continue to do anything necessary to continue to have access to the product. As a country I believe we should actively seek oil in Alaska. By doing so we are using are country’s resources to the fullest.
The demand for oil has a much greater risk than any other resource to start crises, panic and even wars. Despite the recent tragic events that have taken place involving oil spills and leaks the fact remains that United States’ insatiable demand for energy is unchanged. Accidents that have huge impact on our country will sometimes lead to improvements in technology and operations to similar accidents. The benefits of oil are much greater than filling our tanks. Years of study and experimenting are necessary before alternatives to petroleum powered vehicles and alternative sources of energy, such as wind and solar power become ready for primetime in large numbers. This leaves us with two choices, we can produce the oil here, searching in Alaska and the Gulf Coast and reap the benefits that are associated with domestic production or we continue to do as we are and import oil from foreign countries and deal with the risks that are associated with it.
Oil is one of the most needed resources in the United States. It is the main source of our energy needs we use it for everything .Americans seem to preferrer oil usage over solar usage despite the benefits of solar usage. At this point in solar research the necassay advanced technology is not here to provide solar energy solutions for vehicles and national electrical grid systems to replace oil usage.
