Disney Concert Hall

(1)The building I have chosen is the Walt Disney concert hall in Los Angeles, CA. The thoughts about this building began in 1987, when the donations for it started coming in. When the land and money was fully available, Frank Gehry was hired to design and be the head architect on the project. This was in 1988; he didn’t reveal the design for the hall until 1991. The construction of the 6-story parking garage was completed in 1996 and then construction of the concert hall didn’t begin until 1999. The Walt Disney concert hall opened on October 23, 2003. Overall, this amazig piece of architecture took 16 years to be completed. Frank Gehry was born in Canada in 1929 and attended the University of Sothern California and Harvard. He has designed many works, but this is definitely one of his most famous buildings.
(2)This is a great building because it all about beauty and uniqness. The “state-of-the-art” stainless steel exterior is like nothing before. The extravagance of this building includes an amazing entance, an oval courtyard, and a grand staircase.   Also, this building was built to have amazing acoustics with its hardwood-paneled main auditorium. This makes it a perfect place for the most beautiful music to be heard.
(3) This building contributes to the city of Los Angeles because it is one of the most sophisticated concert halls in the world. It is home to the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Master Chorale. There is no doubt that it is on the lists of tourists and brings people from all over the world to Los Angeles. Even if one didn’t enter the building, the exterior is something one should see.
(4) I have never been to Los Angeles, concurrently never seeing the concert hall in person. To my memory, I haven’t seen it in a media source either. However, it is on my list of places to go and things to see. In pictures, it looks amazing and it would be an awesome thing to see someday.
