Introduction

There are many organizations in the world which expand their business globally to increase their bottom line. The reason behind the global expansion is, the organizations think that they will build more brand value and shareholder value, add revenue sources and growth market or to have cheap labor costs. There are ethical and cultural barriers which help an organization to overcome among other things. This paper will discuss a global organization and cultural issue which effects the organization's interaction outside the United States. The paper will identify the cultural issues within the global organization and the ethical perspective as well. In the end this paper will compare the ethical perspective across different cultures involved in the organization.
Cultural Issue Facing a Global Organization
Levi Strauss and Co. is one of the world’s largest and high quality clothing producers. It is a well-established global business which is headquartered in San Francisco, California. They organization is currently operating in 110 countries, and approximately half of their total revenues come from sales outside the United States. In some past recent years, Levi Strauss and Co. has come under many inspections from the range of external stakeholders including media, worker-rights organizations, and socially responsible investment firms (Levi Strauss and Co., n.d.).
These stakeholders had reason to believe that two manufacturing factories located in Bangladesh, which has owned by Levi Strauss and Co., were employing the child workers under the minimum age. The minimum age requirements are not same in Bangladesh as it is in the United States. In Bangladesh, the child working is not uncommon for a child under the age of 15 to support an entire family on their wages.
