Executive Summary
Costco Wholesale Corporation is the number one members only warehouse chain in the world. For over 20 years, Costco has managed to remain the leaders of the wholesale retail industry both in the U.S. and abroad. The quality products they offer set them apart from the others and keep them on top. The multiplicity of merchandise that is offered by Costco delights the curiosity of their members and keeps them coming back.
Costco Slogan “Simplifying home and life” represents what they set out to accomplish for their members. By offering products that may take time to get from four or five different stores, they make It available in one building. Costco creates an experience for their members by offering products and services from their largest seller toilet paper to funeral caskets and everything you can dream of in between.
Costco is also involved with helping many charitable organizations such as The United Way. The Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Communities in School and The Costco Scholarship Fund. The Costco Scholarship Fund help gifted minority student financial assistance in attending Seattle University and Washington State University. They also make every effort to help the communities of their employees live and work to help create their company identity.
In the effort to understand this company better this paper will discuss the history, product line, and marketing.

Costco was founded by Jeff Brotman and Jim Sinegal.   In 1983, the first Costco warehouse opens in Seattle, Washington. Costco was not originally formed as the Costco we know of today.
