Consumer Responsibilities We are the number one consumer country in the world. We burn more oil than anyone, eat more animals than any country and probably cut down more trees than any other nation too. Now anyone in a high position has responsibilities whether it’s a job or a place in society. I think us, Americans, as a nation have responsibilities regarding how we consume and what we consume. There are a lot of different products around us. Just think of buying a cereal for breakfast. There are a number of different brands and choices to choose from, most of them pretty much the same. How does one choose which one he/she wants? This is where the advertisements come in play. If I saw Clint Eastwood eating the Nestle chocolate crunch in a commercial than no doubt I would buy that brand. But is that the right way of making my decision? Producers have always used famous people or reliable things to advertise their products with so we can trust them and buy it. But us, consumers, have responsibilities.
