Introduction

Part 1

The first part of this assignment will be reviewed some knowledges about health and public health in the community and I will describe the Kingdom of Bahrain community in terms of demographic and socioeconomic background as well as I will mention health services that available in this community and focusing on tobacco smoking as a key public health concern in this community and how to be addressed. The second part will reflect the issue from socioeconomic, cultural, political and technical perspectives of the public health concern and how these issues might be tackled. A community Health Development Project for Bahrainis youths has been developed and it will be discussed and evaluated in details. The Definition of Health The most common definition of health is that presented by WHO as “… a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity” (WHO, 2004). The term ‘health’ includes subjective and objective basics, environmental and government policy modules, as well as individual and cultural basics that all affect the health of our populations (SACOSS, 2008). Health is influenced by a number of factors including the physical environment; the social environment; poverty; behavior and lifestyle; and family genetics and individual biology (WHO, 2001). However, after defining the term ''Health'' and how it is influenced to population health, it is relevant to consider what are the social determinants of health. The social determinants of health
