  1. Use the images collected during class. Students need to choose FIVE and explain how these show how Jesus models a Christian life. In your answer, give examples of how adherents put these characteristics into action in their daily lives.
  a) Jesus as a preacher:

This image of Jesus shows him preaching to people in the temple. He preached to the people by the word of the Lord. Jesus taught with authority, not as the scribes, according to Matthew 7:29.
Jesus being a preacher, he spoke with confidence and determination. Hear Jesus: "For I have not spoken of myself: but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak" (Jn. 12: 49). Jesus also spoke in strict accordance to what had been written (Matt. 4: 4, 7, 10). Jesus was bound by the authority of the revealed word and presented it in its purity without addition or change of any kind. Because of this, Jesus confronted and debated those who distorted God's law by their traditions and creeds (Mk. 7, Matt. 5, 6).
Jesus as a preacher gives adherents a feeling of thankfulness, of gratefulness, of gratitude. They are utterly convinced of the fact that their leader and Lord, Jesus Christ, has snatched them from death. They know that they will die, but they have a strong hope: a hope of life. Some adherents began their life with a motivation for money, others for power or praise, or for forgiveness. Some were even enemies of Jesus Christ and what he preached, however, once they realised the truth of what had been done for them, their lives were completely changed, and went to Jesus for forgiveness.
