This research paper aims at analyzing various business-level strategies as well as corporate level strategies for a corporation within the soft drink industry. It shall analyze whether these strategies are significant for the long-term success of the firm chosen and also look at whether the chosen decisions are good or bad for the success of the firm. Furthermore, the paper shall also focus on the analysis of the competitive environment of the Pepsi Cola firm. This analysis aims at identifying the corporation’s significant competitors. These strategies will be compared at each and every level of the firm and further evaluation of the company to determine its level of success in the long-term. Not to forget, the slow-cycle markets and fast-cycle markets will also be discussed within the paper.
Within the Food Industry, I decided to study the Pepsi Cola Corporation. This is a corporation which is headquartered in New York City in the United States. It deals with the production, sales/marketing as well as distribution of various snack foods, drinks in form of beverages as well as other food products. PepsiCo was founded in 1965 and has since expanded its activities to various parts of the world dealing with a wider range of beverages and food brands. It is reported that in 2012, the company got an average revenue of billion $ 43.3. Worldwide, this Corporation is the second largest company that deals with food and beverage products. Only Coca-Cola Company is raked above it. The Chief Executive officer of this Company is Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi who has been in the management since 2006. This paper shall therefore, look at various business-level strategies as well as corporate level strategies that this company can use to ensure its success.
