Branch Orientation

Branch Orientation
For this assignment we had to choose a branch in the Army that we were interested in. I chose the Special Forces branch. I chose Special Forces because I always thought it would be really neat to be a part of that. If I’m not mistaken the Special Forces go behind enemy lines by parachuting out of a plane or other ways. There are a lot qualifications to be in the Special Forces, such as being a male from ages twenty to thirty. You have to be a male, age 20–30.Be a U.S. citizen. Be a high school graduate. You need a Score a General Technical score of 107 or higher and a combat operation score of 98 on the. You have to Qualify for a secret security clearance. You have to Qualify and volunteer for airborne training. You have to achieve a minimum of 60 points on each event and overall minimum score of 240 on the Army Physical Fitness Test. You must successfully complete the Pre-Basic Task list. You need to have 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 in both near and distant vision in both eyes. One year of college is preferred, but it is not a mandatory for enlistment. Some of those qualifications are going to be really hard or impossible for me to do like jumping out of a plane at like 30,000 feet in the air. The Special Forces were in numerous engagements including the Cold War, Vietnam War, El Salvador, Gulf War, Somalia, Iraq War, and the Afghanistan War. There are many others they were involved in.
