Analyzing Credibility

The first commercial I chose was the Pedigree Adoption Drive. These examples were created and paid for by Mars Incorporated. They are the owners of the Pedigree name.
Although the commercial is for Pedigree brand dog food, I found the slant to be the message that buying Pedigree products provide animal shelters with some much needed funding support. Supporting Pedigree is supporting animal shelters.
These examples reflect the compassion and concern that society at large have for their pets. I believe this information is credible. Many groups like the ASPCA, animal shelters and even those that take time to volunteer that can support this fact. People in society have a soft spot for animals in need of help, me included.

The ad claims that they help “lost and abandoned dogs and dogs with no were else to go, find someone to love“. They also claim that when you chose Pedigree Brand you are helping those help dogs.

In order to invoke feelings of sympathy and a desire to help, the creators of this ad shows a slide show of pictures of the dogs that are waiting to find homes. The look of longing and desperation on the faces of these caged dogs is sure to bring about an emotional response.
After viewing this ad, I would purchase products from this brand. I may also consider
adopting a shelter dog over buying a puppy from a pet store.
