Diversity literally means difference. Diversity recognises that though people have things in common with each other, they are different and unique in many ways.Diversity is about recognising and valuing those differences. These include personnel chacteristeristics such as background, culture, personality and peoples work style in addition   those that are protected under discrimination legislation in terms of race, disability, gender, religion and belief, sexual and age.
Equality is about creating a fairer society, where everyone can participate and has the opportunity to fulfil their potential. Equality means equal in status, rights and opportunities no matter what their race, disability, gender, religion, cultural, sexual.
Inclusion is a sense of belonging, feeling included, respected, valued for who you are. Inclusion ensures everyone has excess to recourses, rights, services.

1.1 Explain models of practice that underpin equality, diversity and inclusion in own area of responsibility

My role as Assistant Manager I am responsible for ensuring that all individuals, their families, staff that work for Connected Health are all treated equally.
Everyone should be treated with dignity and respect.
There are Legislations (see below) and our Policies and Procedures which regulate equality, diversity and inclusion within our area of responsibility

It is vital in all aspects of my job role supporting service users that person centred support is practiced. All service users are to be treated as individuals and treated depending on the condition they are suffering, basically support the person not the condition.   Obviously the condition has to be taken into consideration by the care manager when setting up the care plan.
