In this unit I will develop further understanding of the role of public health systems, their origin and development and the key group that influence and shape public health today. This unit also looks at how trends in health patterns are monitored, and where you can access information to look at changing patterns of ill health.
This unit closes by looking at the different methods of promoting and protecting public health in the terms of health education, health protection and environmental measures.
Learning outcomes
After completing this unit I will be able to;
  * Know the origins of public health policy and current health strategies
  * Understand factors that affect health status and patterns of ill health
