What does this passage suggest about the relationship between Cleopatra and Anthong? Compare this with how the relationship is portrayed in the other written source material from the classical period in Book 1, Chapter 1.

In my essay, I will be reviewing what the passage suggests about the relationship between Cleopatra and Mark Anthony. I will then compare that with how the relationship is portrayed in other written source material from the classical period, in Book 1, Chapter 1. I like the structure here, Chanelle, but I would suggest using this bit to say what you have found eg ‘This passage shows a negative view of the relationship between C&A, and in many ways this is mirrored in other texts of the time’.   This tells the marker what your argument is, and it also reminds you where to go.
The first passage suggests that the relationship between Cleopatra and Anthony was unrequited love and it was not reciprocated by Anthony. This is because Cleopatra was 'content to be called his mistress' during the time when Anthony had a wife, Octavia. This quote shows me that Cleopatra was happy to be Anthony's mistress, as it still meant that she was still a part of him. The passage also suggests that Cleopatra was adamant that she wanted to spend her life with Anthony, and without their relationship her life was not worth living where?   Can you give a quote?. Cleopatra was a strong leader, but when it came to her relationship with Anthony, the passage implies that she was a weak women who depended on the love from Anthony to survive quote?. However, as I read towards the end of the passage it is perceived that Anthony is having some mutual feelings, or at least some thought towards Cleopatra, as he puts their relationship before his other duties when he postpones his military expeditions quote?.
