Strengths:   Pepsi Company is a name brand just like AT&T, people know and trust it. Intrabrand acknowledge Pepsi Company as one of the most recognized brands in the world .The brand has been around since 1898.   Pepsi Company is sold in over two hundred countries. It is the largest market share in the U.S. beverage industry at 39%, and snack food market at 25%. Strength is the ability to distribute the product worldwide. The product comes from manufacturing plants and warehouses to customers and retail stores. Variation and diversification is another big strength of the Pepsi Company. They offer a wide variety of products. They have their hand in a little something of everything.   Pepsi offers Gatorade, Mountain Dew, Thirst Quencher, Lays Potato Chips, Lipton Tea, Tropicana, Fritos Corn, Tostitos, Tortilla Chips, Doritos, Aquafina Bottled Water, Cheetos, Quaker food and snacks, and Sierra Mist. It is always a good idea to have your eggs spread amongst different areas instead of having all your eggs in the same basket.
Weakness:   As with most companies at some point they have to recall a product, well with Pepsi Company it happen in 2007 with exploding diet Pepsi cans. This helps ruin company image and loyalty. Another weakness is Pepsi Company is too dependent on U.S. revenues. The U.S. counts for 52% of the company business. A company should never be too dependent on anything especially the way the economy is now and the country being in so much debt. Unemployment rate is at a high and people and are stressed.
Opportunity: Broadening of Product Base - PepsiCo is seeking to address one of its potential weaknesses; dependency on US markets by acquiring Russia’s leading Juice Company, Lebedyansky, and V Water in the United Kingdom. It continues to broaden its product base by introducing TrueNorth Nut Snacks and increasing its Lipton Tea venture with Unilever.
