Summer Read Glass Castle

1. In the book “the glass castle” by Jeannette walls the walls children have gone through a lot of suffering and just want to have a normal life where there parents take care of them and they get love. Children in that situation should be able to be emancipated from their parents because some children are very responsible and have been through a lot. If they have the determination that the walls kids had. Even if the parents had tried their best to keep the children they gave in to the temptation and were not able to hold down a job. In the book the dad told her daughter "He told me I was his favorite child, but he made me promise not to teall Lori or Brian or Maureen. It was our secret. 'I swear, honey, there are times when I think you're the only one around who still has faith in me,' he said. 'I don't know what I'd do if you ever lost it.' I told him that I would never lose faith in him. And I promised myself I never would" (Walls 78-79). Even though she never lost hope she had to leave his side to have a better life. In conclusion there should be special occasions where children are given emancipate due to their parents not being able to give them a proper life.

The artist thing is clogging her mind it is putting distance between her and her children. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger' mom said. 'If that's true, I should be Hercules by now'" (Walls 179). This quote is relevant to this topic because of the way she is saying it I think that her parents are hurting her in a way that she has learned to cope with the pain. Her parents hardly spend time with them and this is...
