ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Western Edge Youth Arts (WEYA) is a registered charity that works with culturally and linguistically diverse and economically disadvantaged communities to create unique arts and arts education experiences for young people under twenty-six…

WEYA works in both school and community contexts, and is dedicated to fostering social justice, self-empowerment and cross-cultural understanding among all young people.

The WEYA Community program is now widely known for innovative participatory projects with high production values. They’re… aimed at young people under the age of 26 and while the program is open to all youths there is a particular focus on those from refugee, newly arrived, culturally diverse and disadvantaged communities within Victoria.

They currently work with more the 600 youths each year within the program which focus on achieving a high artistic standards in areas of performance, dance, film and creative writing to name a few, all of which aims to empower young people.
