Strategic Management on Novartis

Executive Summary

The objective of this paper is to apply strategic planning to Novartis Pharma. It is imperative for companies to deliver on clear strategic choices in today's hypercompetitive business and the uncertain environment is greater than ever.
Novartis strategic plan is the action plan used by the company to assist in achieving a sustainable competitive advantage .The strategic plan consists of the company's Vision , mission , core values , goals and objectives ,strategy and respective outcomes. To conduct this , I would firstly state Novartis vision and develop a mission and value statement. Consequently , I would analyze the internal ,external and competitive environment. This would assist in the assessment of Novartis competitiveness within the Pharmaceutical Industry and appropriate strategies would be suggested dependent on the analysis.

1.0 INTRODUCTION

Novartis Trinidad   is a pharmaceutical giant within the   pharmaceutical industry in the Trinidad , market .They are known for their creativity, innovation and high quality medicines as they focus solely on healthcare and offers a diversified portfolio and provides patent protected, innovative medicines to both the public and private health sector in Trinidad. With the advancement of technology Novartis has greatly contributed to the Pharmaceutical industry and sustained its reputation being a healthcare leader. Their strategic pillars are to extend their lead in innovation , accelerate growth and drive productivity.( Refer to Appendix 1)
