Person centred values is the providing of care and support that is focused on the individual and their needs. There are 8 person centred values that support the person centred approach.
These are: Individuality, Independence, privacy, partnership, choice, dignity, respect and rights.
Aii)An explanation of it is important for why social care workers to work in a way that promotes person centred values
It's important to work in a way that promotes person centred values because it will help develop a clear understanding about individuals who you are supporting. Care support workers should be tailored to suit each individuals as this will show that you are respecting   the individuals dignity and individuality. You are allowing the individuals to do things themselves and supporting them with things they want to do themselves. Letting them do things themselves will give them that independence that they had, although its quicker to do things for them, there independence should never be ignored. Social care workers should help individuals to be independent so they can feel in control of their lives. Social care workers need to understand that each individual needs privacy and this should be supported. Workers should promote this by knocking on patients doors before entering, closing doors to perform all care if the individual is happy. Social care workers can work with other partnerships and professionals to provide and support the individual to help improve their lives with the need of communication, sharing appropriate information and putting the individuals needs at the centre of everything.
