There are having been a lot of movies that have been produced in the last thirteen years but, not that many come close to the quality of “The Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” this blockbuster, fantasy film was released date 19 December 2001. The Director/Producer Peter Jackson and their whole team design team made sure that they perfected every aspect of this movie. The lead actors in this film: Ian Mckellen (Gandalf), Elijah Wood (Frodo), Sean Astin (Sam), and Christopher Lee (Saruman) they help to create a very memorable feature for the audience. When, you are able to take a movie theater full of movie goers back in mid-evil times and making them believe that they are there you have done a very good job. This movie sets an atmosphere for a great battle between good and evil, dark and light, and different shades of grey. It has so many twists and turns and leaves a lot of room in some aspects for interpretations. The movie starts with a look back. The idea of good and evil been used in many movies as a theme and it works because it is easy for people to rally behind one side or the other.
In the beginning of the movie the Peter Jackson establishes a link to the story line for the movie goer since there isn’t enough time to lay everything out in the movie. There is a flashback showing twenty different rings being created and given to the different dwarves, elves, and earth Kings of the realms and one secretly being created to rule them all. They all were expecting to live in peace with one another without issue and not wanting to have any type of discord. Dark Lord Sauron was secretly forging his ring in Mt. Doom the cinematographer did an excellent job with the lighting and contrast.
