“Communications protocols cover authentication, error detection and correction, and signaling. They can also describe the syntax, semantics, and synchronization of analog and digital communications. Communications protocols are implemented in hardware and software. There are thousands of communications protocols that are used everywhere in analog and digital communications. Computer networks cannot exist without them” ("Communication Protocols", 2016). Communication protocols are basically all of the communications between devices, protocols in general are a predefined sets of rules which are used to split data up in order for it to be sent in a particular way. There are many reasons why communication protocols are important. The capabilities to create private communication is important, for example, in a work place or to transfer information between different places. Sending authentic messages, error checking and breaking up data in packets are also reasons why communication protocols are important. The detection of a network , formatting communication messages are important functions of communication   protocols. Another function is how it sends and receives messages and handle various connections.   Without these functions there would be not communication between the computers at all. These important functions allow computers to communicate in a uniformed way. If these did not exist, then the computer systems would not be able to run in a network, or do any forms of communication in a networked level.
The Kudler Fine Foods network uses a TCP/IP protocol and a distributed network protocol through all devices. The TCP/IP protocl formats information transmitted into different formats that will send information through the network. The distributed nework protocol supports communication in the procces and is reliable for the security of the...
