UNIT 6: UNDERSTANDING INCLUSIVE LEARNING AND TEACHING IN LIFELONG LEARNING


1.   ANALYSE LEARNING AND TEACHING STRATEGIES USED IN OWN SPECIALISM
Teaching is based on an ability to communicate, but I have to know that it is a two ways process.   Learning is a result of effective communication and communication is the art of passing a message
According to LLUK standards domain C: specialist learning and teaching I must have an in-depth knowledge of the subject that I teach in order to be confident in transferring to my learners.   I must be able to plan according to learners needs and prepare to meet their needs.   I prepare to deliver and assess learners by making sure learning is taking place.
There are various and different teaching methods available to me to use and the following explain how I use them in my teaching methods in order to meet the learners’ needs. Collaborative and cooperative learning, discussion, active learning, constructivism.   These methods are important to meet the needs of learners, enabling them achieve a common goal and also promote their individuality and potential.


According to Gravells (2011), my main role is to teach my subject in a way that actively involves and engages my learners during every session, by motivating them and managing the learning process.   I ensure the Health and safety is maintained during all activities, and learners are part of something.   I reinforce equality and diversity so that respect to each other and appropriate language is used irrespective of age, race, political point of view or sexual orientation.
