A. Hook: The Catcher in the Rye is a novel that relates a lot to the World War 2 since the author J.D Salinger experienced a traumatic moment in the concentration camps during World War 2.

B. Thesis: In the book The Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger we can see the impact of World War 2 on J.D Salinger's life and how his writing was influenced with his grisly experience of the war.

C. Three main points-
Salinger's experiences in the war affected him emotionally but also affected his writing since Holden was disappointed about how the world was and he mentions many depressing things.

Soldiers that returned from World War 2 to their houses had many difficulties because they suffered of traumatic stress and shell shock.

The J.D Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye novel talks about Holden oldest brother D.B that as well as other soldiers was traumatized.
