Hazards of the 21 Century

Hazards of the 21st century.

New and terrifying events are happening as mankind is taking the first steps into the 21st century. The world’s population has always been faced with risks, but today such risks have the potential to inflict devastating damage on all that people value - the environment, property, health, life itself. Some of the alarming headlines are quite familiar and widely-known nowadays - damaging windstorms and flooding in Europe, ice storms in Canada, hurricanes in the USA, tsunami in Indian Ocean and Japan.

Nowadays environmental problems are too big to be managed by individual persons or individual countries. In other words, it is an international problem. Therefore, it is vital that environmental issues should be treated internationally.
However, the influence of individuals on the environment should not be ignored. If we do not admit that our planet is our home, we will never be able to take adequate care of it....
