Hard-working people have always been Belarus’ biggest asset

MINSK, 1 July (BelTA) – Conscientious work has always been treated with great respect in Belarus, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said as he conferred state awards on Belarusian citizens on 1 July, BelTA has learnt.
The President noted that he is pleased to see best agricultural and industrial workers, police officers, the military, talented managers, government employees, representatives of culture and sport among the awardees. “You represent different generations, professions, nationalities, but you are united by a common goal – the prosperity of our country. Let this ceremony become the symbol of spiritual unity, stability and the potential of the Belarusian society,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
Alexei Grishin, member and instructor of Belarus’ national freestyle skiing team, has been awarded a special prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Belarusian Sports Olympus 2010, in recognition of his high achievements at international competitions, gold medal at the Olympic Games in Vancouver. “The whole country supported him, and he justified our expectations. This can be said about everyone who receives these symbols of recognition and distinction. You lived up to our expectations, materialized our most ambitious plans,” the head of state said.
The head of state noted that the majority of the awardees are people working in the agricultural sector. According to the President, they proved that it is absolutely possible to meet the targets of enhancing the quality and competitiveness of agricultural produce.
The awards were presented to people working in the manufacturing industry and construction. The construction of Stolitsa underground shopping mall and Minsk-Arena sports facility is a testimony to their great professionalism.
