In this TMA I have adhered to the E105 ethical guidance by:
-Ensuring that my settings name and location is not disclosed by removing any names and locations and not describing the whereabouts of the setting.

Task 1

A preschool room leader and keyworker in an open planned nursery situated on the outskirts of a city. I’m responsible for care and development of children aged 3-5 years, I lead a small team of three professionals. The setting follows the Early Years Foundation stage (DFE, 2012), consisting of three prime areas, Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED), Communication and Language (CL), Physical Development (PD). Four specific areas Mathematics (M), Knowledge of the world (KWD), Literacy (L), Expressive arts and design (EAD) and caters for children 0-5 years.   I’m an observation coordinator collaborating with professionals and developing quality observations of the children.

Task 2
After completing the self-assessment form A (SEF)and viewing the Professional Practice Advice table (Open University, 2012) ,I rated myself as having reasonable amount of knowledge on the PPA for sections working effectively with parents, colleagues and other professionals (PP5), Leadership and change (PP6) and Managing sessions with groups of children to support children’s communication (PP2).

I rated PP5 because I need to improve my partnership with other professionals. I would like to develop “collaborative and co-operative working across a range of situations, such as transitions, ensuring you explain, consult, negotiate and delegate” (Open University, 2012)....
