Divorce Cause and Effect Essay

From the past to present, people all over the world have determined to live together; which is called marriage. However, some couples are unable to maintain their relationship and they choose divorce, which is one of the solutions to cope with problems between husband and wife. While most people think carefully before they get married, the divorce rates are continually increasing. It is shown that divorces can be taken place much easier than the past. Changing woman’s roles, stress in modern living, and lack of communication, are three main causes of divorce.
The first significant cause of divorce rates is that women are completely changing in roles. In the past, men had to earn money to afford the expense of family, while woman only did housework. Women had no money, causing them to depend on their husband’s income. The effect of this pattern caused it to be difficult for most women to separate from their husbands. These situations are beginning to change now. While men are starting to share the household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, washing, and caring for children, women can work outside the household to earn money. The equality of men and women are becoming clearer. It can be clearly seen that women are becoming more independent because they are earning money by themselves and are able to support their living cost. This is causing the recently rise in divorce rates.
Another cause to confirm the recent increase in divorce rates is stress in modern living. As the economy decreases, many people feel pressure to earn and have money. In many countries students generally want to go to a well known university so they can have more opportunities to find a job or earn a lot of money. Also, some people are laid off from their companies causing stress to occur in their family; while some families can earn money but yet still have a hard time covering all their expenses, which make it easy to think about divorce.
