When it comes to the field of criminal justice is an ever evolving field because technology has changed the way criminal commit crimes and the way the criminal justice field interacts with that technology. Keeping up with the changes in society is a vital part of our criminal justice. This paper cover the past, present and future trends components of criminal justice. Another issue that will be covered is the connections between the criminal justice system and society. Thru the years, the relations between the criminal justice system and the social order have changed and there is an unending change. It is of great magnitude that the criminal justice system, any and all parts, and society to have a connection. There will be a couple more things that will be discussed. These things are the recent and future trends and contemporary issues that affect the criminal justice system. The value of the criminal justice system in a changing society is another important topic that will be talked about.
Our criminal justice system all started with the early American colonists, after coming to America from Europe. It is important to note that the early criminal justice system was very similar to those in England. We used the common law system, and were basically a set of rules that were to solve problems in society. The common law system made two distinctions between crimes, felonies and misdemeanors. Common law had a grand jury determine if there was enough evidence for prosecution in more serious crimes. In common law, there was no district attorney, or prosecution. The victim of the crime would finance the prosecution and instigate it.
In today’s society, we have come to depend on our law enforcement agencies to protect us in any and all ways that they can. Citizens want to be able to walk the streets and feel safe doing this. Society wants to feel safe in their homes...
