Compare Three Levels of Health Promotion In Nursing Practice
Introduction
The provision of health care is an important requirement for all people across the globe. The profession of health care is divided into a number of stages depending on the nature and type of health care that gets accorded at these stages. There are three major types of health care; the primary, secondary, and tertiary systems of health care. This paper shall analyze articles that highlight on these three types of health care in order to identify the similarities and differences in their adoption of health care promotion strategies.
Health Promotion
Health promotion is generally defined as a process that enables people to increase the ability of their control over their health and other factors and determinants that affect their health. This way, they are able to improve their health status. According to the primary care stage of disease management, health promotion is conceptualized as the provision of generalized care by health practitioners in efforts to curb the symptoms and spreading of a disease before it takes toil on the population. Health promotion, in this context, therefore, depends on the ability of the health care givers to identify a disease, which could be new or existing, in order to identify the symptoms to this disease and interventions that they can take to treat the condition in the affected population and among those that stand to be affected.
The second article, which includes the secondary methods of health care promotion, defines health care promotion as the interventions to health care that are taken by specialists in the field of health. Secondary health care comes after primary health care, after one is referred for more specialized care that is more specific than the primary attention given earlier.
