Harrison was last seen alive talking to a woman in the street outside his flat in Kuala Lumpur at 9.30 p.m. He was found dead in his flat by his wife, Mary, when she came home from a party at 11.30 p.m. He was killed with a revolver. An LRT ticket and a small English-French dictionary were found by his body. His wallet had been stolen. The police suspected Taylor, Roberts and Cannes. All three were arrested the next morning.

Taylor once worked for Harrison, but was sacked for stealing. He has often said he hates Harrison and would like to kill him. He was seen by three witnesses 30 km from Harrison’s home at 10.30 p.m. His fingerprints were found in Harrison’s flat. When he was arrested, his car was searched by the police. Blood stains were found in his car.

Robert is from Klang. He is an old friend of Mr. and Mrs. Harrison. Robert is known to the police as a thief, but not a killer. When he was arrested, RM2000 in cash was found in his wallet. There was also a love letter signed ‘Mary’ found in his pocket.

Cannes works in an import-export business in Miri. Harrison owed him a lot of money. When he was questioned, he said that he was at his hotel from 9.30 to 11.30 p.m. His fingerprints were found in Harrison’s flat too. When his wife was questioned, she said that he was out of his hotel all evening.
