ABSTRACT
In this assignment, First of all, I try to appraise Allstate’s goal setting progress to figure out   whether or not Allstate has an effective goal-setting program. Secondly, I mentioned about competitive advantage Allstate has from the development of Diversity Index. Then, I talked my ideas about what kind of high-performance   reward system Allstate should use to motivate its employees to reach its diversity goals. Lastly, I thought about myself, if I were an Allstate employee, and then, would I be motivated by the Diversity Index and QLMS. Also, I provide some explanation about that.
  -Using the model for goal setting, evaluate Allstate’s goal setting process to determine
whether or not Allstate has an effective goal-setting program.
Goals are future outcomes (results) that individuals and groups desire and strive to achieve ( Hellriegel, & Slocum p. 192). Goal setting is the process of specifying desired outcomes toward which individuals; teams, departments, and organizations will strive and is intended to increase organizational efficiency and effectiveness. ( Hellriegel, & Slocum p. 192). Allstate’s goal setting program is very effective, and is built around four motivational aspects of goal setting. The first aspect is direct attention, Allstate company has its employees focus on duties of their particular job. The second aspect is regulate effort, Allstate insurance company regulates effort by using succession programs. The Allstate Company assess employees on current job skills and a outline for developing the skills for advancement within the company.
