As the title of the essay is very challenging, I wanted to appreciate the definition of aggression, so I consulted the Cambridge Dictionaries Online – ‘Aggression is spoken or physical behaviour that is threatening or involves harm to someone or something:’ the question is, is this behaviour necessary for survival?! By researching the theories and examples of angry behaviour I hope to find the answer.

To get an understanding of how a person feels when they are at a heightened state of aggression I listened to a man’s frightening account on YouTube, ‘How anger gets out of control’, of his thoughts, emotions and fears.   Both his father and grandfather were angry people therefore the assumption was the feeling of anger was carried in the genes.   One moment he felt calm but at the toss of a coin he could fly into a rage for no apparent reason. The scenario was that his wife wanted to visit friends, he didn’t want to but his wife made a decision to go and leave him at home. He became angry and wanted revenge so he drove to the friend’s house and demanded his wife’s car keys but she...
