A Day and a Life of Danig

I usually wake up with my blankets wrapped around me like a mummy. I have to be up just before 8am to get to work on time for 9.30am.   My mobile phone alarm clock usually goes of at 7.45am, playing the song Funky Town,
“Gotta make to a town that’s right for me
A town to keep me movin’, keep me groovin’ with some energy
Well, I talk about it, talk about it, talk about it,
Well, I talk about it, Well, I talk about it, Well, I talk about   movin,
Gotta move on, Gotta move on…” (Lipps,Inc: Funkytown Lyrics
I love this song as   it reminds me of a great holiday I had with my girlfriends, but that’s another story…

Like clockwork I am usually awake before the alarm goes off. I am quite an early riser. If I don’t have to go to work I usually get up around 9am or 9.30am. But sometimes I have an extra half hour, depending on what I have done the day or night before. When I get out of bed, I put my purple dressing gown on. Purple is my favourite colour. The gown is soft like cotton wool; it is snug like my duvet. I really don’t like been cold on a morning, I dread winter mornings, it is so warm and cosy in bed, my house is so cold in the winter, when I breath my warm breath out from beneath the duvet, the chill in the moist air makes your breath look like a cloud of smoke in the air.

I have a lovely hot shower, with the bathroom window open to allow me to hear Kentish Town’s noisy, busy high street. The fresh air and the noisy clashing, banging and squeaks from the buses really wake’s me up.

I only have a cup of tea on a morning. A complementary breakfast is available at work. It’s an incentive to get us all into work on time. I usually have a warm crumbly chocolate croissant, some mornings I am so hungry I could eat a horse between two straw mattresses, so I have two croissants.   I drink my tea whilst doing my makeup and hair in my bedroom. Once I am ready I lock the flat up and head to work.
